Earth to Israel, You should know better
There's a stigma in the US where supporting Gaza in the recent conflict amounts to terrorism. Unfortunately, human empathy dictates that the injustice on civilians on both sides needs to stop. America, however, eats out of the palm of the Israelis and their American supporters (who somehow are Israelis first, then Americans.....) Any attempt to reprimand the alleged atrocities committed by IDF is met with rebuke from the Israeli government. Republicans would love to save Israel, since for many, their constituents have a false belief that the nation of Israel has a roll in return of the Christian Messiah.
The issues at hand are complex. Yes, Hamas is terrorism and they cannot rule in Gaza. But no, they are no solely to blame as many Conservatives would have you believe. If you enjoy shooting fish in a barrel then shelling Gaza is your thing. But if you're human, and if you're a Jew ,fo all peope, you should know better what it means to systematically annihilate a people group.

I'm a Republican and see them as a valuable ally with more rights for their citizens than the surrounding areas. At the very least they are beachhead much like England/Japan/Philippines/Taiwan are an unsinkable aircraft carriers to the US. Hamas is nothing more than a death cult, just google suicide bee. Israel will give back land for peace like with Egypt, but Arabs will decry building of settlements when there are no takers like with the Golan Heights. Their negotiations are ruses to set-up the next conflict. They dead they try to maximize through human shields and commingling of military and civilians or even involuntary military additions to people's houses, may not be from the conflict, look-up green helmet man on Little Green Footballs. Israel doesn't want to have to right for it's survival, they try to minimize fatalities as much as possible, just look-up the roof knocker which is a bang to force evacuation before the real bomb. I imagine they had to resort to that because Hamas will not tell it's own citizens to evacuate.
